R\u00fcckenschild.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"kommentar1\">Serie von Darstellungen der sieben Werke der Barmherzigkeit (Septem opera misercordia corporalis), i.e. Hungrige speisen, Durstige tr\u00e4nken, Fremde beherbergen, Nackte kleiden, Kranke pflegen, Gefangene besuchen, Tote bestatten. Der Kupferstecher und Stichverleger Thomas de Leu (auch de Leeuw) aus Flandern, war in Paris t\u00e4tig zwischen 1576 und 1614. Er tritt of in Erscheinung als Nachstecher, z.B. von Johannes Sadeler und Marten de Vos. Die vorliegende Serie konnten wir bei Hollstein (Dutch) nicht eruieren, auch das bei Robert\/Dumesnil, Le peinter-graveur fran\u00e7ais (1868), Bd. X enthaltene Werkverzeichnis von de Leu if\u00fchrt sie nicht auf. Die detailreichen Bl\u00e4tter sind in einem ornamentierten Rahmen und tragen unten gestochene Texte: Esurij multa Cereris me fruge cibastis; Me sitis ussit eam Baccho relevare parastis, Nudus eram vario me vestiuistis amictu, Carcere clausus eram properastis protinus ad me, Languida membra mihi sancte invisistis amore, Hospes eram vestra et me tecta subire petistis, Funera sunt hominum maesto decoranda sepulcro. &#8211; Etwas gebr\u00e4unt, kleiner Eckabriss im Rand von Bl. 1 unten, kleine abgeriebene Stelle in untern Rand von Bl. 4. &#8211; Zu de Leu cf.
