Das popul\u00e4rste Werk von Thomas von Kempen (1380-1471) entstand 1427 , wurde 1434 ins Deutsche \u00fcbersetzt u. bis heute unz\u00e4hlige Male u. in verschiedenen Sprachen wiederaufgelegt. Als mystisches Erbauungsbuch besteht es aus der Ermahnung zum geistlichen Leben, Ermahnungen, die zur Innerlichkeit f\u00fchren, aus dem inneren Trost u. der dem\u00fctigen Ermahnung zur heiligen Kommunion. Die vorliegende Ausgabe wurde illustriert vom franz. Maler (Edouard) Edy Legrand (1892-1970), der vor allem f\u00fcr seine orientalistischen Bilder bekannt war.
